Business Development Corporation of Electra
Business Development Corporation of Electra (BDCE), a nonprofit corporation, serves the City of Electra in administering the Type B (4B) sales tax in support of community and economic development projects. The seven-member board was created following voter approval of a half-cent economic development sales tax in 1999.
The goal of the Business Development Corporation of Electra is to improve the City of Electra by assisting in attracting new business and jobs, supporting and retaining existing businesses, improving infrastructure, promoting the community, assisting in the development of recreational and entertainment facilities, developing affordable housing, and encouraging the fair enforcement of city ordinances and codes.

BDCE has expended significant resources in support of water infrastructure improvements since its creation in 1999.
